March, 1990 - Patrolled Trenton Park SE (6th & Mississippi). The community was under siege by drug dealers. Guardian Angels set up an office and began patrolling.
April 16, 1990 - CMDR John Ayala was stabbed with an ice pick a half inch from his spine during a fight with drug dealer. Two other Angels were treated at the hospital for less serious injuries and released.
May 25, 1990 - Smaller crowds, more Police & Guardian Angels help keep Georgetown quiet. Georgetown, where several violent incidents last weekend provoked an outcry, was quiet last night as police deployed additional officers on overtime amid crowds that appeared considerably smaller than usual. Members of the Guardian Angels, a civilian crime-fighting group, were also present last night.
June 1990 - Patrolled Clifton Terrace NW to prevent drug activity. CMDR John Ayala was cut on his left side by a man who refused to stop selling drugs on the property.
November 21, 1996 - Patrolled Metro Red Line after two armed robberies occurred within 10 days.
January 16 & 17, 1997 - Assisted with search for missing 12-year old Darryl Hall. He was abducted on 1-15-97 while walking home from school.
February 1, 1997 - First patrol in Adams Morgan after three rapes.
March 1, 1997 - Attended candlelight vigil for slain D.C. Police Officer Wendell Smith.
March 10,2007 - Guardian Angels set up shop in Adams Morgan after three rapes and to murders between Jan 15 to Feb. 27. 2007.
March 27, 1997 - Guardian Angels start patrolling Capitol Hill. They had eight robberies, a rape of a 14 year old girl and two murders.
April 3, 1997 - Guardian Angels took the Orange Caps on patrol. They received a training on how to patrol from the Guardian Angels March 25.
April 28, 1997 - Guardian Angels attend candlelight visual at the Six District Police Station. Three Police Officers were gunned down in three months. CMDR John Ayala voiced his opinion on capital punishment for killing a police officer.
May 1997 - Guardian Angels give Citizens on Patrol Training to The Association of the Triangle residents (Adams Morgan)
July 3, 1997 - Guardian Angels begin Save the Children Campaign on the corner of Benning Road and East Capitol St by passing out flyers that read ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, SAVE OUR CHILDREN, STOP THE DRIVE BY SHOOTINGS, SAY NO TO GANGS, SAY NO TO DRUGS.
July 19, 1997 - Guardian Angels started patrols in Georgetown due to the many requests of residents because of a murder at Starbucks, a robbery at Boston Market and other street robberies.
November 24, 1997 - Guardian Angels patrol the Petworth area of NW to express outrage over the murders of five woman.
May 11, 1998 - Guardian Angels start patrolling Fort Totten due to recent rapes.
July 13, 1998 - Guardian Angels answer a church prayers. Guardian Angels start patrolling the grounds of Word of God Church on 1500 block of K Street SE to deter away drug dealers, and prostitutes.
September 1998 - Guardian Angels work with MPD on Capitol Hill to report suspicious or illegal activities (drug sales, trash dumping on vacant buildings and disbursing unruly and obnoxious groups gathered on street corner or in front of businesses).
November 20, 1998 - Guardian Angels start patrolling the Eastern Market Community because of robberies that happened around the holiday season.
May 2001 - Guardian Angels help with the search of Chandra Levy a missing 24-year old lady.
October 10, 2002 - Guardian Angels make gas stations less menacing for Maryland and DC area residents by pumping gas for citizens who are too afraid because of the sniper.
June 8, 2003 - A half dozen Guardian Angels stopped car jockeys from shaking visitors down for money on 18th Street in Adam Morgan.
December 1, 2003 - Chief Charles H. Ramsey yesterday extended his crime initiative into early January, moments after telling the Guardian Angels that he welcomes their presence in the District’s Hispanic neighborhoods plagued by gang violence.
November 25, 2003 - Guardian Angels has started patrols in Columbia Heights and other NW neighborhoods that have been plagued by gang related shootings in recent months.
November 31, 2003 - Guardian Angels distributed pamphlets, painted over graffiti and took phone calls from desperate parents seeking advice about gangs.
May 2, 2004 - DC Guardian Angels acknowledged Councilman Jim Graham and local DC Police Officers in the successful gang and crime crackdown in Mt. Pleasant and Columbia Heights.
January 16, 2005 - Guardian Angels safety patrol started patrolling the Metro Buses in SE-Congress Heights to serve as a visual deterrence due to the assaults and robberies.
April 29, 2005 - Guardian Angels distributed reward flyers with police for the shooting of 9-year old Donte Manning in front of an apartment complex located at 2620 13th Street, NW.
May 31, 2005 - The Guardian Angels Washington area coordinator, John Ayala says they’ve been getting request to patrol the neighborhood where Donte Manning was shot, following a series or shootings.
