The Washington, D.C. Guardian Angels
We wear our uniforms with pride!! Our red berets, t-shirts and jackets serve as visual deterrents to crime. We are a familiar sight on the mass transit systems, in drug-infested parks, housing complexes and on the street. Guardian Angels are trained in CPR First Aid, self -defense and what to do if we see a crime in progress. We work very close with the DC Police. We carry a MPDC Police radio, we train at the DC police academy and we will make a citizens arrest if needed.
Reliable Guardian Angels provide volunteer services to your community. We escort senior citizens, assist the handicapped, provide self-defense demonstrations, distribute food to the hungry and homeless, speak at Elementary, Junior High and High school students about the dangers of gangs, drugs, peer pressure and the importance of staying in school. We also participate in community events, MLK Parade, Unifest, Black Family Reunion, Adams Morgan Day, Homeless Walk, Aids and Breast Cancer Walk, etc.
We are there when needed in extreme emergencies: 9/11/01-We participated in search and rescue at the World Trade Center in New York City. 2002- We pumped gas for drivers when four people were shot and killed by the Beltway Sniper. 2003-We began patrols in Columbia Heights when it was plagued by gang related shootings. 2004-Hurricane Charlie- Guardian Angels passed out water, ice, food, and supplies in Fort Pierce, Florida. 2005 - We began patrolling metro buses to prevent bus drivers from getting attacked. Right now our patrols is in Adams Morgen, NW we meet there every Friday And Saturday Night At 2:00am and we patrol up to 4:30am. Come walk with us its lots of fun and you can test your skills here.
